A few years ago, I visited Ely, a delightful town in Cambridgeshire in England. Ely has one of the most beautiful cathedrals in the United Kingdom.

The cathedral, built at the hands of the Benedictine monks in the 11th century, houses the English museum of artistic stained glass.

Medieval stained glass at Ely

This is the only museum in England specialising exclusively in stained glass. It houses a collection of works ranging from the thirteenth century to the present pieces.

Ely dista solo un ora e mezza di macchina da Londra ed è una meta obbligata per chi è appassionato di quest’arte e si reca in visita in Inghilterra.
