THE ARTIST: I started working with stained glass after a short course in my home town of Pavia.
I moved to the UK where I worked for John Hardman Studios and Norgrove Studios.
There I learned different techniques and styles and had the opportunity to work on many prestigious commissions including the UK House of Parliament's Millennium windows and the restoration of the medieval stained glass collection of Samm Fogg.
After seven years in the UK, I decided to move back to Italy. I worked for two years in one of the best studios in Rome.
During my time at this studio I produced the stained glass windows for the cathedral of Abuja, the Capital of Nigeria. I had the fantastic opportunity to go there and fit the windows, it was an amazing experience. Africa will always remain in my heart.
Since then I've decided to start my own business here in the eternal city. IKO's windows are unique, made with the best mouth blown glass and finely painted with glass colours fired in a kiln at 650°C.
IKO's mission is to create works of art for public, private and religious buildings.
